Actua’s Tech Playground: Exploring Digital Learning

Microbit codable chip

This week, I had the opportunity to attend Actua’s Tech Playground: Exploring Digital Learning, a hands-on professional development session that introduced educators to exciting technology tools for the classroom. From Micro:bits to Spheros, Scratch, and Ozobots, we explored how these platforms can be used not just for teaching coding but also for concepts like geometry, patterns, and problem-solving.

One of my biggest takeaways? Tech isn’t just for “tech” classes—these tools can be integrated into a wide range of subjects in creative and engaging ways. Plus, Actua provided free lesson and activity plans, making it easy to bring these innovations into the classroom right away.
